Families, kids, or seniors about to embark on the next chapter of their lives, engagements, weddings, precious newborns….I do it all and love every type of session that I am blessed to shoot.
Before we meet for your session, we will talk through the details, but below are some frequently asked questions. The investment for various types of sessions is also below.
Where are your sessions?
My newborn sessions are in my home studio in NW Fresno. For all other sessions, I shoot at a variety of outdoor locations. There are five to six spots that I use regularly throughout the year, with great natural light and greenery that photograph beautifully! I also love a couple of more urban locations in downtown Fresno and Old Town Clovis. We will decide on a location together after you book your session!
How long are the sessions?
For newborns, I give a three hour time block in my home studio. For my regular outdoor sessions, they usually range in length from about 35-45 minutes.
What should I wear?
I typically suggest “dressy casual” - clothing that is nice, but not necessarily fancy. It’s great to choose a palette of a few different colors that are relatively neutral - for example, navy, gray, and white, or black, cream, and tan, and then having fun with that in the form of a plaid or striped collared shirt with dark jeans for men, a dress or jeans and a fun top for women, and coordinating outfits for the kids. It’s not recommended that every person be in a solid colored shirt, especially not solids that are all the same color. Because I shoot outdoors in greenery and pretty, natural environments, I recommend avoiding fluorescent colors, athletic wear, or shirts with any writing or sayings on them. I DO recommend stripes, plaids, or florals in tasteful patterns and tones. Families should coordinate, but not be too matchy-matchy. Layers also look amazing in photos!
What if the weather is bad?
Fortunately, we don’t see too many bad weather days in our area! The only time we would postpone is if it’s actively raining right before the session or at the time of the session. I don’t typically postpone on days that are cloudy or overcast, or in certain temperatures, etc. 99% of the time, weather is not an issue.
Do you give digital files or prints?
I email a link of the edited, digital files to you within about 10-12 days of your session. You own the rights to your images, and can use them on social media, or print them locally at Horn Photo in Riverpark. I always love to receive photo credit if you are posting photos to Facebook or Instagram!
